In practice most of the work lands in Zabbix and Grafana, where the free tools I publish are the first result engineers find when they go looking.
The stack follows your estate, your team and your constraints. Deep in Zabbix and Grafana because they suit most environments, not because every problem is one.
Templates, dashboards, scripts and the reasoning behind them are yours, documented, with no dependency on me to keep them running.
The free tools and the guides on this site are the same work, published. Read them and judge the thinking before you spend anything.

A device, API or application with no usable template. I write it properly: discovery, value maps, triggers with sane hysteresis, and a doc explaining what each item measures.
