Privacy Policy

Effective 22 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data SIA KorFlux collects through this website and in the course of its business, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

SIA KorFlux ("KorFlux", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of KorFlux's business, as described here.

Scope

This policy covers this website, the KorFlux newsletter, and our dealings with clients, prospective clients and business partners. Some KorFlux products and services may have their own privacy notice. Where they do, that notice applies to that product or service and takes precedence over this policy for it.

This policy does not cover software, tools or content that Dmitry Lambert publishes or distributes personally, for example through Patreon, Payhip or YouTube. Those are not KorFlux products or services, and the terms and privacy policies of the platforms they are distributed through apply to them.

What we collect and why

Contact form and email

When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address and message, together with the IP address the request came from and the time it was sent. We use this to reply to you and, where relevant, to prepare or perform a contract with you. The IP address is used to protect the form against spam and abuse. The same applies when you email us directly.

Legal basis: steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the form free of abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address (and your name, if you gave it), where you signed up, when you confirmed, and your subscription status. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you are only added after you confirm through the link we email you. For each issue we send, our email provider reports back whether it was delivered, bounced, opened or clicked, and whether it was marked as spam. We use this to keep the list healthy and to see which topics are useful.

Some subscribers joined through our previous mailing-list provider or as supporters of our YouTube channel on Patreon; their subscriptions were carried over to our own system with the same status and can be ended the same way.

Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, or an address bounces or reports spam, we keep a minimal record (the address, its status and the date) so that we never email it again.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

Zabbix Infrastructure Planner

To email you a sizing plan, the planner asks for your work email, company and position, and sends us your answers about the environment being planned. We use this to generate and send the plan and to follow up on your enquiry. If you tick the optional box to receive information about monitoring services, we may also add you to the newsletter.

Legal basis: performing your request (Art. 6(1)(b)); your consent for the optional marketing information (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Free browser tools

The Zabbix Template Generator and Database Size Calculator run entirely in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us.

Clients and business partners

When we work with you or your organisation, we process the contact details of the people involved, our correspondence, and the information needed for contracts, invoicing and accounting.

Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), our legal obligations under Latvian accounting and tax law (Art. 6(1)(c)), and our legitimate interest in managing the business relationship (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Website analytics and session recordings

The website uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use it. They collect information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, approximate location, device and browser type, and interactions such as form submissions and tool usage. Clarity also records mouse movements, clicks and scrolling to produce heatmaps and session replays. These services use cookies (see below). We use the results only in aggregate, to improve the site.

You can block these services with your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on.

Security and server logs

Like any web server, ours logs technical request data, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure and to block abusive traffic. Form rate limiting keeps your IP address for about one hour after your last submission.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Cookies and similar technologies

Our own code does not set cookies or use your browser's local storage. Cookies on this site come from the third-party services described above:

Videos are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set YouTube cookies until you play a video. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers. You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf, under data processing terms, and only as far as needed:

Links to other sites (for example Patreon, Payhip, YouTube or LinkedIn) take you to services we do not control; their own privacy policies apply there.

Transfers outside the EU

Some of the providers above are based in, or may process data in, the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time (see below).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, www.dvi.gov.lv) or with the supervisory authority in your own EU country.

Security

We protect personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-restricted administration, signed confirmation and unsubscribe links, and abuse protection on all forms.

Children

This website and our services are intended for professionals and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The current version is always published on this page, with its effective date at the top.
